How much do you charge?

This question does not have a simple answer. The cost of logs vary by species and quality. The cost of sawing varies by the size of boards that you would like sawn. Give us a call and we will give you a quote!

What do you have around?

This can vary greatly. If you are looking for some boards for a small project we usually have some extra boards left over from some of our customer orders. Wood shavings are also available at most times.

What is a board foot?

A board foot equals a 12 inch square of wood 1 inch thick. Or a 6 inch wide board, 24 inches long and 1 inch thick.

Logs are scaled (measured), and purchased by the board foot.

Is your lumber dried?

We currently do not offer Kiln drying services. We do offer air dried lumber which in our area dries to around 12% percent in the summer and 15% in the winter. Drying times vary greatly depending on summer, winter, board thickness, species, etc.

I cut down a tree. Will you buy it?

Many factors are involved in the purchase of logs for a sawmill. Sawing quality lumber begins with a quality tree. Things that devalue a log for us are: Large knots, pitch, rot, crook, etc. There are ways to mitigate some of these during the tree cutting process so they don’t necessarily mean the whole tree is worth nothing.
